Med Surg RN Job in Morgantown, WV

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 22-bed orthopedic and telemetry unit at WVU JW Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. This is a night shift position with a 3x12 rotating schedule, including every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule as assigned. You can expect to work rotating holidays as part of the regular rotation.

Unit Details

• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5–6
• 3 CNAs per shift with aide ratios of 1:7–8
• Charge nurse available 24/7
• Telemetry monitoring present; RNs are not required to read strips
• Respiratory therapy equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen) used as needed
• RNs are not required to titrate drips

Clinical Requirements

You must have strong orthopedic experience, specifically with total joint replacements. Fracture experience alone does not meet the requirements for this role. Common patient diagnoses include orthopedic joints, replacements, and fractures.

Floating and Scheduling

You may be required to float to units 7E, 7W, 10W, and 10E. The cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract. You will receive 1–2 shifts of unit-specific orientation.

Credentials and Technology

BLS certification is required. A BSN is not required. The unit uses EPIC for charting, and royal blue scrubs are required.
