ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC is seeking a travel RN for their Emergency Department. This is a 91-day assignment beginning August 3, 2026, with a schedule of three 12-hour night shifts per week (6:45 PM–7:15 AM).

Role Details

• Work in a high-volume, 101-bed emergency department
• Patient ratios: 4:1 for medical patients; up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
• Float across all ED sections as needed; no floating outside the department
• Chart using Cerner electronic health record system
• Operate Baxter pumps and GE monitors
• Support from technicians in cardiac monitoring, internal processing, and triage; unit clerks available days and nights
• Follow AIDET patient experience standards with respectful communication and behavior
• Maintain current patient board information

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Preferred: experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits annually)
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required before start date
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
• Teamwork mentality with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility to work all ED areas
• Navy scrubs required

Schedule and Pay

• Every other weekend scheduling required with flexibility to meet department needs
• Block scheduling is not available
• Weekly pay: $1,918.44
