ED Registered Nurse Job in Odessa, TX

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Medical Center Hospital, a Level II Trauma Center. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning July 28, 2026.

Schedule & Compensation

• 3 shifts of 12-hour days per week on a 36/48 alternating block schedule
• 12 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) required per contract
• Weekly pay: $2,099.52

Clinical Responsibilities

You will care for patients across all age groups—neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. A 4:1 patient ratio applies during day shifts. Your duties include triage, phlebotomy, IV placement and maintenance, and 12-lead EKG/ECG interpretation. You will manage arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes, and ventilated patients, as well as administer and monitor procedural sedation, IV vasopressors, and continuous IV medications. You will interpret arterial blood gases and cardiac dysrhythmias and treat conditions including trauma, traumatic brain injury, CVA, seizures, drug overdose, burns, and gunshot wounds. You will also manage psychiatric holds, suicidal patients, and patients exhibiting violent behavior.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Travel healthcare experience required
• Level II Trauma Center experience required
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC

Preferred Qualifications

• Cerner charting system experience

Team Support

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response services to deliver comprehensive patient care.
