Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Day shift position on a stepdown transplant unit
• 36 or 48 hours available per week
• 13-week contract
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
• Every other weekend required; must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
• Maximum 40 hours of pre-approved time off per 13-week contract
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Patient ratio of 4:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Care for adult patients with kidney failure, liver failure, pancreas failure, and post-transplant complications
• Provide post-operative and post-transplant care for solid organ transplant patients (kidney, liver, pancreas)
• Manage arterial line monitoring, peritoneal dialysis, LIP managed vasoactive drip medication administration, post biopsy care and monitoring, and complex glucose management
• Float within scope of practice as needed
• Epic charting system experience required
• BSN preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, feeding tube care and management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, managing vasoactive drips, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, pre/post hemodialysis management, telemetry monitoring, titration of insulin drips, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Special equipment includes: Alaris IV pumps, Glucommander, 12 Lead ECG, bladder scanner, PCA medication pumps, and bedside in-room telemetry monitors
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
