PCU Registered Nurse Job in Kansas City, MO

Join BJC West – Saint Lukes North Hospital – Barry Road Campus as a Registered Nurse in our Progressive Care Unit. This 91-day travel assignment offers you the opportunity to work nights on a 3x12 schedule at $2,262.82 weekly.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to adults and geriatric patients with a 1:5 ratio across all shifts and weekends
• Monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and manage telemetry systems both on-unit and remotely
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral lines, and perform phlebotomy and IV starts
• Administer blood products, manage heparin and IV insulin protocols, and administer procedural sedation
• Provide respiratory support including BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
• Care for chest tubes, feeding tubes, surgical drains, and wound management including wound vacs
• Manage pre- and post-operative patients including cardiac surgery, cardiac catheterization, and angiogram patients
• Support patients with renal failure, post-hemodialysis management, and peripheral nerve block catheters
• Respond to rapid response activations and manage patient isolation precautions
• Accept charge RN and holiday shift assignments as needed

Requirements

• Valid RN license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; charge and teaching hospital experience preferred
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Experience with Epic charting preferred
• First-time travelers welcome

Assignment Details

• Nights, 3x12 schedule
• Guaranteed 3 shifts per 13 weeks
• 8 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period (Friday, Saturday, Sunday combination)
• Floating may be required to Med-Surg, Telemetry, Medical-Intermediate units, and Emergency Department for inpatient holding
• Block scheduling not available
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility
