PCU Registered Nurse Job in Overland Park, KS

Join BJC West - Saint Lukes South Hospital as a Registered Nurse in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a float pool position where you will work across approximately 5 Med/Surg Intermediate and PCU departments, gaining broad clinical exposure across multiple metro campuses as needed.

Position Details:

• Shift: 3 days per week, 12-hour shifts
• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: October 26, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,043
• Patient ratio: 1:5
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks

Schedule Requirements:

• Minimum 8 weekend shifts every 6 weeks (Friday, Saturday, Sunday combination)
• Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed
• Maximum 7 days requested time off
• No on-call required; block scheduling not available

Clinical Focus:

You will care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including sepsis, wound care, ETOH, SI, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, and stroke. Required skills include cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, and pre/post cardiac catheterization care. Experience with neuro step-down and MS/Tele units is essential.

Requirements:

• RN license (Missouri or Compact required)
• 1 to 2 years clinical experience; first-time travelers accepted
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Home address minimum 75 miles from facility

Technology & Support:

You will chart in Epic and work with Virtual Nurses, 12-lead EKG equipment, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell. Interdisciplinary support includes IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy.

Preferred skills include sheath removal, feeding tube management, port access and management, blood product administration, and central line care.
