PCU - Progressive Care Unit

RN - PCU Stepdown

Job Details:

• Day shift position with self-scheduling and block scheduling options available
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 to 1:4
• 36-bed unit focused on cardiac, respiratory compromise, and post-procedure recovery patients
• Weekend requirement of 6-9 weekends per 6-week schedule
• Holiday shifts required
• First to float; may float within Zone 1 facilities as determined by nurse manager
• Cancellation policy: facility may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
• Charting system: EPIC (rhythm strips documented on paper, not interfaced with EPIC)
• Must be able to care for patients requiring non-invasive respiratory support including BiPAP, heated high flow, and CPAP
• Must be able to manage titratable drips per IMC unit policy, including cardiac, antihypertensive, metabolic, antiarrhythmic, sedation, and analgesia drips
• Chest tube management experience required
• Nurse aids available on unit at a 1:12 ratio
• Telemetry monitor techs available; RNs required to verify rhythm strips read by monitor techs
• Telemetry system: GE
• RT equipment includes vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow
• Charge nurse carries no patient assignment
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA)
• BSN not required
• Must reside outside of a 60-mile radius; valid driver's license must be submitted
