PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• 3x12-hour day shifts, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Must work one holiday per 13-week contract
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Block scheduling available upon request
• Self-scheduling unit
• Patient ratios: 1:4 days, nights, and weekends (must be comfortable with 1:5 ratio)
• 20-bed unit with adult neurological patient population
• Care includes neurosurgical recovery, stroke management, neuro-specific diagnoses, medical overflow, and 24-hour epilepsy monitoring (5 dedicated beds)
• Required to float to units within clinical skillset
• EPIC charting experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Required clinical skills include: cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management, use of Rapid Response and Code teams, IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, medication administration, cardiac drips (no titration), respiratory support including nasal cannula and oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Active Virginia State or Compact RN license required
