PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Night shift position available for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Block scheduling cannot be accommodated or guaranteed
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Patient ratio of 3:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
• Treat surgical and trauma-related patient diagnoses
• Must adhere to float policy and float within scope of practice as needed
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tube management, continuous bladder irrigation, epidural analgesia, feeding tube care and management, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drip management, non-invasive airway management, orthopedic trauma, PCA management, peripheral line care/management, peripheral nerve block catheters, phlebotomy, PICC line management, pre/post hemodialysis management, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, renal failure management, spinal cord injury care, IV insertion and maintenance, surgical drain management, telemetry monitoring, insulin drip titration, total joint replacement care, tracheostomy care/management, traumatic brain injury care, use of rapid response/code teams, and wound care/wound vac
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• Virginia nursing license required (pending license accepted)
