ED - Emergency Room

Job Details:

• Work 12.5-hour day shifts from 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM in the Emergency Department
• Block scheduling is never promised or guaranteed
• Floating to other units is required
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• 64-bed unit including 2 triage, 40 acute, 6 super track, 2 trauma, 10 CDU, and 6 psych beds
• Treat patients across all age groups including newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
• Common patient diagnoses include stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure
• Experience with specialty equipment including Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun required
• Must be proficient with required drips and medications including pressors (Levophed, Neo, Epi, Vasopressin, Dobutamine, Dopamine), vasodilators (Cleviprex, Cardene, NTG), anti-arrhythmics (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Lidocaine), sedation medications (Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl), TNK, Heparin, and Insulin
• Minimum 2+ years of Emergency Department experience required with some pediatric experience
• Travel experience is required
• Charge nurse capability highly preferred
• EMR experience with EPIC required
• Required certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC
• Active New York nursing license required with NURSYS verification
• Must live 75 or more miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate; local rate applies for those within 75 miles
