Emergency Room RN Job in Geneva, NY

Finger Lakes Health Geneva General Hospital is hiring an RN for its Emergency Department. You'll work 3x12-hour shifts on a rotating day/night/weekend/holiday schedule, completing 3 shifts plus 2 on-call shifts per 4-week period.

Your Responsibilities:

• Assess patient needs and identify urgent or emergent care priorities for patients of all age groups
• Conduct primary and secondary assessments including critical need evaluation and documentation
• Perform triage and assign priority of care in accordance with ESI Triage Standards
• Apply invasive and non-invasive procedures, treatments, and therapeutic interventions for life-threatening and routine emergency situations
• Evaluate patient physiological, psychosocial, emotional, and cultural needs
• Establish rapport with patients and families, addressing comfort needs and providing frequent updates
• Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures and treatments
• Make appropriate referrals for post-emergency care and provide discharge instructions
• Document and report any suspicion of domestic violence or abuse across all age groups

Requirements:

• Minimum two years of acute hospital experience as an RN
• Minimum one year of emergency department hospital experience as an RN
• New York State RN licensure required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, Stroke Certification (AHA or RQI), NIHSS
