PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
• Patient population: Adults to Geriatrics
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Patient ratio: 1:3-4 on days and 1:3-4 on nights
• 32-bed unit with an average daily census of 21
• Every other weekend required unless specified otherwise; 3 weekend shifts per contract
• No on-call requirements
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
• Holiday work expectations apply based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Unit admits patients from CICU, MSICU, acute care floors, and ED
• Patient diagnoses include: Post-op CABG, thoracic surgeries, vascular surgeries, respiratory failure with multiple treatment modalities (except invasive mechanical ventilation), cardiac arrhythmias, DKA, GI bleed, trauma, CVA, seizures, CIWA, metabolic disorders, renal failure, hypertensive emergency, sepsis, and neuro disorders
• Required skills: Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, and telemetry
• Telemetry competency exam required
• Unit systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
• Special equipment: AirVo, BiPAP, CPAP
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and more
• Georgia or Compact nursing license required
