PCU Registered Nurse Job in Prescott, AZ

You will work as a Registered Nurse in a progressive care float pool position at Yavapai Regional Medical Center – West in Prescott, Arizona. This role covers multiple units across both campuses, including the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Medical-Surgical Telemetry, and inpatients holding in the Emergency Department.

Schedule and Compensation

• 3 twelve-hour shifts per week (days or nights, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend requirement
• Weekly pay: $2,208
• Contract duration: 91 days, starting November 30, 2026
• No call or standby requirements

Clinical Requirements

• Minimum 1 year PCU experience required
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam with 80% score within two attempts prior to contract signing
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Competency in titrating drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin
• Ability to interpret telemetry strips

Unit Details

• Nurse-to-patient ratios: PCU 1:4, Medical-Surgical Telemetry 1:5–6
• Patient population includes geriatric, orthopedic, post-procedural cardiac, post-MI, post-cardiac catheterization, and CABG post-operative patients
• Equipment operation: CPAP, BiPAP, and Heated High Flow
• Electronic health record: Cerner

Work Environment

• Float pool assignments communicated 2 hours prior to shift start via text message
• Travel between campuses required (20–25 minutes)
• Orientation includes 8-hour general hospital orientation, 12-hour shift at West Medical-Surgical Telemetry, and 12-hour shift at PCU
• Solid color professional scrubs required (transitioning to Navy scrubs in October)
• Included in permanent staff holiday rotation
• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per contract (3 shifts if contract under 13 weeks)
