Med Surg RN Job in Petoskey, MI

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 60-bed Medical Surgical Unit at McLaren Northern Michigan. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a 3x12 night shift schedule, every other weekend required. You will earn $2,436.48 weekly.

Your Role

You will care for post-surgical cases, diverse medical conditions, traumas, strokes, and inpatient hospice patients. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans. You will utilize clinical pathways, patient education, and interactive communication to address all aspects of patient care. Effective communication through collegial relationships, SBAR, and interdisciplinary communication is essential to this role. There are no on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of straight Med Surg experience required (not float, not SDU/TELE)
• Level I or Level II Trauma experience required
• Travel experience preferred
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required
• Michigan nursing license required with LARA and Nursys verification
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application required

Expectations

You must maintain a strict attendance policy. Three strikes for absences or being more than 20 minutes late will result in immediate termination. This assignment begins September 21, 2026.
