Med Surg RN Job in Petoskey, MI

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 60-bed Medical Surgical Unit at McLaren Northern Michigan in Petoskey, serving patients with mixed acuity and diverse conditions. Your role includes caring for post-surgical cases, medical conditions, traumas, strokes, and inpatient hospice patients.

Position Details:

• Schedule: 3x12 hour day shifts, every other weekend required
• Duration: 91 days, starting October 5, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,480
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements:

• 2+ years of direct Medical Surgical experience (not float, not SDU/Telemetry)
• Level I or Level II Trauma experience required
• Valid Michigan nursing license with LARA and Nursys verification
• BLS certification (AHA)
• Skills checklist completed within one year of application
• Travel experience preferred

Attendance Policy: You must maintain strict attendance. Three strikes for absences or arriving more than 20 minutes late will result in immediate termination.

Clinical Responsibilities: You will collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans. You will utilize clinical pathways and patient education to address all aspects of care, demonstrating effective communication through collegial relationships, SBAR communication, and interdisciplinary teamwork.
