Opportunity:

RN - Acute Care

Job Details:

• Part-time position requiring 2 x 12-hour shifts per week with every other weekend availability
• 2 on-call shifts required within every 4-week period
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required with at least 1 year in an emergency room environment
• New York State RN licensure required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA), and NIHSS
• Assess patients of all age groups to identify urgent or emergent care priorities
• Conduct primary and secondary patient assessments, detecting and documenting any major deviations from norm within acceptable timeframes
• Perform and manage various invasive and non-invasive procedures, treatments, and therapeutic interventions for life-threatening and routine emergency situations
• Utilize triage standards in accordance with ESI training to assign priority of care
• Assess physiological, psychosocial, emotional, and cultural needs of patients and their families
• Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care
• Prepare patients and families for diagnostic procedures and treatments and provide discharge instructions
• Document and report any suspicion of domestic violence or abuse across all age groups
• Maintain patient communication boards throughout the ED stay and provide frequent updates to patients and families
