ED RN Job in Carlsbad, NM

Carlsbad Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department on a 13-week travel assignment. You will work day shifts from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM on a 4x10 schedule, earning $2,380 weekly.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide shift accountability for emergency room patient care utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies
• Perform thorough patient assessments and communicate findings effectively to the care team
• Administer medications and monitor for side effects with attention to safety protocols
• Document patient care with strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Demonstrate critical thinking skills and scientific judgment in planning safe delivery of patient care
• Maintain knowledge of safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement initiatives
• Delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience
• Provide direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care

Requirements:

• 2+ years of emergency room nursing experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, ENPC, and TNCC certifications required
• NRP certification preferred
• Fingerprint background clearance required for New Mexico travelers

Assignment Details:

• Patient ratio: 4:1
• Floating between units required
• EMR system: MedHost (EDIS)
• Full uniform and scrubs required
• Call out requires minimum 2 hours prior to shift start
• Maximum 1 RTO per 6-week schedule; blocked scheduling not approved
• 48-hour guarantees not approved
• RTO blackout dates apply for summer and winter holidays based on department needs
