Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required with holiday rotation
• Contract length is 26 weeks minimum - no 13-week option available
• Unit is tele-capable with primarily Med/Surg patient population - EKG requirement applies to all RNs
• Will be required to work Charge RN shifts as needed - previous charge experience required
• Float required as needed across all facilities within the health system
• Patient ratios of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics with MS diagnoses
• Must pass an EKG/dysrhythmia interpretation exam during onboarding (2 attempts allowed)
• Use of Rapid Response/Code teams required
• Blood product administration required
• Peripheral line care and management, starting and maintaining IVs required
• Heparin, insulin, and PCA administration required
• Nasal cannula and isolation precautions/PPE required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Additional skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube care, IV insulin protocols, oral suctioning, PICC line management, surgical drains, and wound care/wound vac
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
