Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with 3 days per week scheduled
• 36 estimated hours per week
• Provide respiratory therapy services and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities
• Read prescriptions, measure arterial blood gases, and review patient information to assess condition and determine treatment requirements
• Evaluate appropriateness of medical orders and interpret clinical data to optimize patient outcomes
• Set up and operate mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators
• Monitor patient physiological responses including vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes
• Perform bronchopulmonary drainage and assist patients with breathing exercises
• Conduct pulmonary function tests for physician diagnosis
• Assist in transporting mechanically ventilated patients and respond to all code situations
• Maintain accurate patient charts with pertinent identification and therapy information
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Graduate of a CoARC approved Respiratory program required
• Required certifications and licenses: Basic Life Support (BLS), Registered Respiratory Therapist (RTT), State License, PA Act 31, PA Act 33, PA Act 34, PA Act 73
• NRP may be required for certain facilities
