Telemetry RN Job in Kansas City, MO

You'll work as an RN on a 29-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. This is a full-time travel position running 3 nights per week (7 p.m. to 7 a.m.) for 91 days, beginning September 21, 2026.

Your Role

You'll manage a 1:4 patient ratio, providing care to post-cardiac procedure patients and those requiring continuous heart rhythm monitoring. The unit team includes a Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and Patient Care Technicians who support daily operations.

Required Experience and Skills

• Current Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU nursing experience
• Ability to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
• Experience with post-cardiac procedural care, including ablations, cardiac catheterizations, post-op day 1 open heart surgery, and permanent pacemaker placements
• Competency in administering and titrating IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone
• Proficiency with IV insertions, nasogastric tube placement and maintenance, chest tube management, temporary pacemaker oversight, and Foley catheter insertions

Equipment and Systems

You'll work with Alaris IV pumps, SCD machines, Hill Rom beds, Dinamap monitors, Welch Allyn vital sign machines, Wound Vacs, temporary pacemakers, telemetry monitors, EKG machines, bladder scanners, Dopplers, and the iMobile communication system. Documentation occurs via Meditech electronic records.

Requirements

• Active RN license
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Availability for 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
• Willingness to float to other areas where competency is established

Expectations

You'll align with patient experience goals by treating every patient with courtesy and respect. Dress code requires navy blue scrubs; black scrub pants may be worn with a navy blue top.

Compensation

Weekly pay is $2,233.80.
