PCU Registered Nurse Job in Tucson, AZ

Northwest Medical Center and its affiliated facilities are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position in Tucson, Arizona. This is a travel assignment running 91 days, beginning September 28, 2026.

Position Details

• Day shift: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• 48-hour guarantee considered
• 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• Float pool role across four facilities: Northwest Medical Center, Oro Valley Hospital, Northwest Houghton, and Northwest Sahuarita
• Patient ratio: 6:1
• Weekly pay: $2,077

Role Responsibilities

As an RN in this PCU step-down unit, you will evaluate assigned patients and develop, implement, and document individualized nursing care plans. You will assist physicians during examinations and procedures, perform patient assessments and diagnostic tests, and administer medications within your scope of practice. You will also promote patient independence by establishing care goals and educating patients and families about their conditions, medications, and self-care strategies.

This position requires familiarity with cardiac drips, TAVRs, and Watchman mitral clips at minimum. You will work in a Cerner EMR environment.

Requirements

• Active Arizona nursing license
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Associate's degree in Nursing (Bachelor's degree preferred)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Cerner EMR experience

Scrubs may be any color. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a progressive care setting while working across multiple affiliated facilities in the Tucson area.
