Telemetry RN Job in Lees Summit, MO

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in our Telemetry unit at BJC West - Saint Lukes East - Lees Summit, caring for adult and geriatric patients on a 3x12 night shift schedule. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting November 2, 2026.

Position Details

• 1:5 patient ratio in a progressive care setting
• Shift: 3 shifts per 13 weeks guaranteed; 8 weekend shifts required within 6 weeks (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday combination)
• No on-call; block scheduling not available
• Regular floating between departments, units, and facilities may occur
• Maximum 7 days requested time off per contract
• 16-hour orientation
• Weekly pay: $2,294

Your Experience

• Minimum 2 years nursing experience; community hospital experience required
• Charge experience preferred
• Travel experience required; home address must be at least 75 miles from facility

Key Responsibilities

You'll monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret and manage dysrhythmias, manage post-cardiac procedures including cath and MI patients, and handle complex care tasks: feeding tubes, hemodialysis management, renal failure care, blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, PICC lines, IV starts, heparin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drips (non-titrated), PCA, CVA management, surgical drains, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, tracheostomy care, isolation precautions, and wound care including wound vacs. You'll also manage pre/post cath patients and femoral line/groin site care.

Diagnoses and Conditions

Patient populations include AMI, cardiac arrhythmias, heart failure, chest pain, vascular disease/PVD, intermediate-level care, sepsis/infection, pneumonia, alcohol withdrawal, suicidal ideation, and GI bleed.

Required Certifications and Skills

• Required: BLS, NIHSS, ACLS (preferred), CPI (preferred)
• Preferred skills: sheath removal, port access, phlebotomy, total joint replacement awareness
