Med Surg RN Job in Appleton, WI

ThedaCare - Appleton is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Medical-Surgical unit position. This is a 13-week travel assignment beginning September 14, 2026.

Position Details

• 12-hour night shift, 5:30 PM start time
• 3 shifts per week with 36 guaranteed hours
• Every other weekend required; holiday rotation as needed
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Patient ratios: 1:4–6 (current model) or 1:5–6 with CNA/LPN support (new staffing model)

Responsibilities

You will provide direct patient care across the Medical-Surgical unit with case management including CHF, COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, CIWA, cellulitis, and wound management. Your scope includes pulmonary interventions, neuro checks, chest tube management, cardiac dysrhythmia monitoring, and administration of stable drips. You will float throughout the facility within your skillset and to all network facilities within a 60-mile radius as needed. Any missed shifts must be made up within 2 weeks of absence.

Qualifications

• Current Wisconsin RN License
• AHA BLS certification
• Minimum 3+ years experience as an RN
• EPIC charting experience within the last 2 years required
• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing
• Travel experience highly preferred

Compensation and Benefits

Weekly pay is $2,521. Black scrubs required.
