PCU Registered Nurse Job in Kansas City, MO

Join BJC West – Saint Lukes North Hospital – Barry Road Campus as a Registered Nurse in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 8, 2026.

Position Overview

You will work 3x12 night shifts with a patient ratio of 1:5. The unit operates at full capacity with 31 beds and a daily census of 31, serving adults and geriatric patients. You'll earn $2,319 weekly and be guaranteed a minimum of 3 shifts per 13-week period.

Scheduling & Requirements

• 8 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period (Friday, Saturday, Sunday combination)
• Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed
• Regular floating between departments, units, and facilities may occur
• Block scheduling unavailable
• Maximum of 7 days requested time off per contract

Clinical Skills & Competencies

You must have 2 years of nursing experience; previous charge and teaching hospital experience is preferred. Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Proficiency with Epic charting system is essential.

Your clinical scope includes cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation, post-cardiac procedures, IV therapy, central and PICC line management, medication administration (including heparin and cardiac drips), respiratory support (tracheostomy, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula), hemodialysis preparation and management, feeding tube care, wound care, and isolation precautions.

Interdisciplinary Support

You will have access to physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary support.
