PCU RN Job in Phoenix, AZ

Join Banner Estrella Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit. You will provide direct nursing care to observation patients, working three 12-hour night shifts per week. This is an 89-week travel assignment beginning February 1, 2027, offering you the opportunity to develop expertise in progressive care nursing while supporting patients through critical transitions in their hospital stay.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting comprehensive nursing care for each patient
• Monitoring patients' physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and educational needs
• Reviewing patient history, diagnostic results, and laboratory data to inform care decisions
• Formulating and implementing individualized care plans with discharge planning components
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate patient care
• Providing direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision as appropriate
• Documenting patient assessments, interventions, and responses accurately in medical records
• Educating patients and families on care plans, treatment protocols, and discharge instructions
• Participating in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development

Requirements:

• Current RN license
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum one year of acute care hospital experience
• Experience in an acute care setting within the past 12 months
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and stand or walk frequently
• Demonstrated clinical performance competencies appropriate to specialty area

Bachelor's degree and professional certification are preferred. You will work flexible night shifts within the 3x12 schedule. Weekly pay is $2,559. This assignment is based at Banner Estrella Medical Center, located at 9201 W Thomas Road, Phoenix, Arizona.
