PCU RN Job in Morgantown, WV

You will work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at WVU JW Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting October 5, 2026, with three 12-hour night shifts per week at $2,493 weekly pay.

Your Role

You will care for a diverse patient population with primarily medical diagnoses in a flex unit serving both floor and step-down patients. Patient ratios are 3:1 for step-down and 6:1 for floor patients. You may manage up to 6 med-surg patients or 3 step-down patients depending on unit needs. Clinical Associates (nurse aides) support the team with a goal of three available at all times.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Manage patients requiring drip titration, including heparin, insulin, anti-hypertensives, antiarrhythmics, phenobarbital, ketamine, and opioid PCAs (morphine, dilaudid, fentanyl)
• Administer TPN and manage respiratory equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen on floor and step-down units
• Monitor patients on ventilators (those requiring setting adjustments are transferred to ICU)
• Access remote telemetry surveillance; central monitoring is available on-unit, and you are not required to read your own strips

Scheduling & Requirements

You will work night shifts with weekend and holiday commitments as scheduled. Expect to work approximately half of all recognized holidays. No on-call or standby duties apply. Charge RNs and House Supervisors are available 24/7. You may be floated or pulled to other floor or step-down units as needed.

System & Certifications

EPIC experience is required for charting and order management. You must hold current BLS certification (AHA). Phillips telemetry monitoring equipment is used on the unit.

Cancellation Policy

Two shifts per 13-week assignment may be cancelled; one shift for assignments under 13 weeks.
