PCU RN Job in Glendale, Arizona

Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, Arizona is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a travel nursing position offering an 89-day assignment starting November 16, 2026.

Position Details

• Shift: 3x12 nights per week
• Weekly pay: $2,559
• Location: 5555 W Thunderbird Rd, Glendale, AZ
• Possible float to support other units as needed
• Weekend and holiday rotation requirements

Your Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document nursing care for patients across the care continuum
• Complete comprehensive patient assessments including physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs
• Formulate and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members
• Review patient history, diagnostics and laboratory data, reporting abnormal results to physicians
• Provide direct patient care, coordination, delegation and supervision of healthcare team activities
• Document all nursing interventions, assessments and patient responses in medical records
• Evaluate patient progress and modify care plans based on patient response to treatment
• Delegate appropriately and provide supervision to other licensed nurses and personnel
• Participate in patient and family education and discharge planning activities

Requirements

• Current valid RN license in the state of practice
• BLS certification
• Minimum one year acute care hospital experience
• Acute care experience within the past 12 months
• Ability to maintain clinical performance competencies through annual validations
