Opportunity:

RN - Cardiac Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• 36 hours guaranteed per week
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6; must be comfortable taking up to 6 patients during surge
• Call requirement: Yes; frequency of on-call depends on patient census
• Float requirement: Yes
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend, 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays in a 6-week period
• Self-scheduling with oversight from leadership; no block scheduling
• 36-hour unit orientation required; must be available every day during week one for hospital orientation
• Minimum 2 years of experience required; must have similar experience with ratios and acuity
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS
• Required skills: IV start, telemetry, pre and post-procedure cardiac patients, cardiac drips, PCI
• Must be proficient with telemetry and pulse ox, high flow O2 (stable), non-rebreather mask, and BiPAP (chronic use only)
• Must be comfortable titrating cardiac drips including Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone
• Patient population includes cardiac and stroke patients; diagnoses include unstable angina, low-risk chest pain, CHF, dysrhythmias, CVA, and TIA
• Pre and post-procedure care for pacemaker implantation, implanted cardioverter/defibrillators, cardiac catheterization, and TR bands
• Must be comfortable in a fast-paced unit with a typical weekly turnover of 78 to 90 patients
• Charting systems: Pyxis, Dimensions (Epic), SBAR
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Scrub colors: Navy blue or white scrubs; Novant t-shirts allowed; jackets must match uniform color and material (no fleece); no Crocs with holes
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
