NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care

RN - NICU

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts with options for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Night patient ratio of 3:1; weekend patient ratio of 3:1
• Self-scheduling available
• 36 orientation hours provided
• Level II or III NICU experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in NICU required
• Travel experience preferred
• Altera/Allscripts charting system experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, ACLS
• Care provided to neonates 32 weeks and up in a Level II special care nursery setting
• Patients do not require ventilated care
• Patient diagnoses include transitional respiratory distress, thermoregulation, and glucose control
• Special equipment used includes Bubble CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Panda Warmer, and Giraffe isolettes
• Interdisciplinary support available including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Social Services
• Key clinical skills required include neonatal dosage calculations, phlebotomy, phototherapy, IV placement and maintenance, and feeding management (bottle, breast, gavage)
