CVICU RN Job in Mesa, Arizona

Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona is seeking an experienced RN for our Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. This is a travel nursing position offering 3 shifts of 12 hours on nights for an 89-week assignment beginning October 12, 2026. You'll earn $2,434 per week.

Role Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care according to professional nursing practice standards
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments including physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural factors, and discharge planning needs
• Review patient history, diagnostic results, and laboratory data; report abnormal findings to physicians and appropriate caregivers
• Formulate and implement individualized care plans based on patient-specific needs and medical directives
• Coordinate, delegate, and supervise health care team activities to implement the plan of care
• Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching, revising plans as needed
• Document assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluations accurately and timely in patient records
• Participate in shared leadership, education, and mentoring of facility personnel, patients, students, and families

Requirements

• Current, valid RN license in Arizona
• BLS certification required
• Minimum one year experience in acute care hospital setting required, with specialty experience within the past 12 months
• Minimum two years CVICU experience preferred, with focus on direct open-heart recovery
• Experience with Impella and Balloon pumps strongly preferred
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Professional certification preferred

This role includes a varied work schedule with weekends, holidays, and float assignments per department guidelines. Banner Desert Medical Center is located at 1400 S Dobson Road, Mesa.
