CVICU RN Job in Mesa, AZ

You are a registered nurse with acute care experience seeking a travel assignment in Cardiothoracic Intensive Care. Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona is looking for an RN to join the CVICU team on a nights schedule.

About the Role

You will provide direct nursing care to post-operative cardiac surgery patients and other critically ill cardiothoracic patients. Your responsibilities include:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments addressing physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, and cultural needs
• Review patient histories, diagnostic results, and laboratory data; report abnormal findings to physicians and care team members
• Develop and implement individualized care plans aligned with the medical plan of care
• Coordinate, delegate, and supervise health care team activities to carry out the plan
• Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching; adjust the plan as needed
• Document assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluations accurately and promptly
• Participate in shared leadership, education, mentoring, and professional development

What You Bring

• Current, valid RN license in Arizona
• BLS certification
• Minimum one year acute care hospital experience with specialty experience in the past 12 months
• Minimum two years CVICU experience preferred, with focus on direct open-heart recovery
• Experience with Impella and Balloon pumps strongly preferred
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Professional certification preferred

Assignment Details

This is an 88-week travel assignment beginning September 8, 2026. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week. The schedule includes weekends, holidays, and float per department guidelines. Your weekly pay is $2,434.
