Med Surg RN Job in Augusta, GA

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on the Medical Surgical unit at Piedmont Augusta Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. This is a 12-week travel assignment beginning September 28, 2026, with a schedule of three 12-hour night shifts per week at $1,817 weekly.

Your Role

You'll care for adult and geriatric patients with a patient ratio of 1:6. Your unit maintains an average daily census of 29 patients across 32 rooms. You'll manage the full spectrum of Medical Surgical diagnoses and are expected to float within the facility and your scope of practice as needed. Every other weekend shift is required. There are no on-call requirements, and holiday coverage is expected based on holidays falling within your assignment period.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; first-time travelers are accepted
• Charge Nurse experience is preferred
• Clinical competencies: Isolation Precautions, Wound Care and Wound Vac management, Nasal Cannula and High Flow Nasal Cannula delivery, Chest Tube management, IV insertion, PICC Line management, Blood Product Administration, and Feeding Tube care and management
• Proficiency with Epic charting system, Pyxis, and SBAR communication systems
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and NIHSS certifications are preferred

Facility Details

You'll wear Navy Blue scrubs. The unit has access to interdisciplinary support including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and a Unit Secretary.

Time Off and Expectations

You may request a maximum of 7 days off during the contract period. Blackout dates apply during Spring Break (April 4–12). You'll use the Epic electronic health record system daily.
