PCU RN Job in Omaha, NE

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy. This is a 126-day travel assignment beginning September 14, 2026, with 3x12 night shifts (6:30 PM to 7:00 AM). You'll earn $2,437 weekly.

Your unit is an 18-bed PCU serving adult oncology and trauma patients. Patient ratios run 1:4 to 1:5 on nights. You'll manage common drips including chemotherapy, heparin, Cardizem, and Protonix. You must be comfortable titrating insulin and Cardizem drips and working with high-flow respiratory equipment. The facility uses EPIC for charting and Alaris IV pumps.

Minimum Requirements

• 1 year of nursing experience; first-time travelers are welcome
• Valid driver's license at hire
• Current ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications
• Able to pass an open-book skills exam with a minimum 90% score during orientation

Preferred Qualifications

• Oncology experience or strong PCU experience
• ONS/ONCC certification
• Chemotherapy certification

Schedule & Unit Culture

Every other weekend is required. Self-scheduling is available but balanced to unit needs. You'll receive two days of unit orientation. The unit emphasizes hourly rounding and bedside shift report as key patient experience focuses. You may float to other Med/Surg and PCU units at the same level of care.
