PCU Registered Nurse Job in Omaha, NE

You are an RN looking for a 91-day travel assignment in a progressive care setting. CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center – Bergan Mercy in Omaha, Nebraska has a PCU position on the 4th Floor East Wing, a 55-bed unit providing step-down level of care to adult patients.

Your Role

You will work 3x12-hour night shifts (6:30 PM to 6:30 AM) with an every-other-weekend requirement. Your patient ratio is 1:4. The adult patient population occasionally includes pediatric patients 15 years and older. Common diagnoses include CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, subdural hematoma, and generalized weakness.

Clinical Requirements

• Telemetry competency
• Experience with PCA pumps, Cardizem, insulin, and common drips
• IV pump experience with Alaris systems
• EPIC EMR charting
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Unit Support & Environment

You will have access to nursing assistant support, charge nurse, educators, care managers, social workers, dieticians, physical therapy, and occupational therapy on the unit. Float capability is required, ideally to medical-surgical areas based on highest need.

Compensation & Details

Weekly pay is $2,425. Your assignment runs 91 days, starting November 9, 2026. You must reside more than 50 miles from the facility and have a valid driver's license at submittal. Navy blue scrubs are required. Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments.

Onboarding

During orientation, you will complete a pass/fail open-book exam with a minimum passing score of 90%. BSN is not required. Current licensure and the required certifications (ACLS, BLS, NIHSS) are essential.
