PCU Registered Nurse Job in Charleston, WV

CAMC General Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for their Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Charleston, WV. This is a 91-day travel assignment with a start date of November 12, 2026.

Shift & Schedule

• 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Weekday shifts with every other weekend required
• Guaranteed 36 or 48 hours per week (discuss preference with manager)
• Self-scheduling with block schedule requests available
• No on-call requirement

Compensation & Benefits

• Weekly pay: $1,944

Clinical Responsibilities

• Patient ratios: 3:1 for IMC, 4:1 for Medical/Surgical observation
• Float as needed to like units, ICU, and observation areas within scope
• Care for medical patients with respiratory issues, DKA, arrhythmias, post-operative kidney transplant patients, and interventional neurological patients
• Provide telemetry monitoring for patients with medical, surgical, and renal needs
• Perform arterial line management, central line care, chest tube management, and tracheostomy care
• Manage ventilator care and cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• Minimum 1 year in-specialty experience
• Strong IMC and/or ICU experience required
• West Virginia or Compact RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (both AHA)
• NIHSS and FIT Test certifications
• First-time travelers accepted

• Orientation: Every other Thursday (16 hours total)
