Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work three 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every 3rd weekend required with holidays as needed
• Float required between all campuses as needed
• Minimum 1 year of experience required; no first-time travelers accepted
• Travel experience required
• Acute Care Rehab experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• EPIC charting system experience required; must pass compliance EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
• Required certification: BLS
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Patient diagnoses include CVA, TBI, ABI, spinal cord injury, neurological diagnoses, and generalized debility
• Specialized care for qualified patients with rehabilitation needs including post-stroke, aneurysm, post-op surgical, brain injury, and spinal cord injury
• Patient ratio is 1:6; one unit operates on a rotating basis where a nurse may have 7 patients of equivalent acuity
• Skills required include interpretation of dysrhythmias, MS/Tele, and EKG interpretation
• Perform duties including interpretation of laboratory results, medication reconciliation, patient health history and allergy documentation, and vital signs monitoring
• Perform dressing changes, set up aseptic/sterile procedure trays, capillary blood draws, specimen labeling, throat and urine cultures, and phlebotomy
• Handle telephone triage and pharmacy calls/patient refill requests
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services
