RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Weekend night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Schedule requires every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday OR Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
• 12-hour shifts with block scheduling not guaranteed but accommodated when possible
• No call or standby requirement
• Nurse-to-patient ratios of 3:1 for step-down and 6:1 for floor/med-surg patients
• Clinical Associates (nurse aides) available with a goal of 3 CAs at all times at a 1:10 ratio
• Flex unit serving both floor and step-down patients based on patient and hospital needs
• Diverse patient population with primarily medical diagnoses
• Must be able to manage 6 patient med-surg load or 3 patient step-down load
• EPIC EMR experience required for charting
• RNs will have orders written to titrate drips including heparin, insulin, anti-hypertensives, antiarrhythmics, phenobarbital, ketamine, morphine/dilaudid/fentanyl PCAs, and TPN
• Will work with CPAP and BiPAP on floor and step-down; HiFlow and vents in step-down (vent setting adjustments referred to ICU)
• Remote telemetry surveillance center available with central monitoring on unit; RNs not expected to read their own strips; Phillips telemetry monitoring equipment used
• Charge RNs and House Supervisors available 24/7
• First to float or be pulled to other floor or step-down units
• Expected to work approximately half of all recognized holidays
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of royal blue and white
• Required certification: BLS (AHA)
• BSN not required
• Acute care setting
