PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - PCU

Job Details:

• Varied work schedule with every other weekend and holidays per unit rotation
• Regional contract position that will float to support PCU and Medical/Surgical units at NCMC, Loveland, or BFC as needed
• Must be proficient in caring for PCU and M/S cardiac, medical, ortho, and neuro patients
• Must be proficient in reading and monitoring telemetry strips
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing practice standards
• Conduct patient assessments including physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs
• Formulate and implement individualized plans of care including discharge planning based on patient-specific needs and medical plan of care
• Review diagnostics and laboratory data and report abnormal results to physicians and appropriate caregivers
• Delegate and supervise activities of health care team members including licensed and non-licensed personnel
• Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching and revise plan of care as needed
• Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation accurately and in a timely manner in the patient record
• Participate in unit or facility shared leadership and support education and orientation of facility personnel
• Minimum one year of experience in an acute care hospital setting required with experience in the specialty area within the past 12 months
• Colorado CAPS required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Current, valid RN license in state of practice required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Professional certification preferred
