Job Details:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Patient ratio of 1:6 on all shifts
• Average daily census of 10 patients with 12 beds/rooms
• 8 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period, combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks; cancelled shifts must be the regular assigned shift length
• No on-call required
• Primary unit is Inpatient Rehab; floating may be required to other MSI units including ED for inpatient holds
• Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
• Treats adults and geriatric patients with diagnoses including pulmonary conditions, cardiac conditions, Neuro/CVA, orthopedic recovery, debility, and amputation
• Must be able to perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and respiratory treatments as ordered
• Must be able to manage BiPAP/CPAP devices with preprogrammed settings for chronic conditions
• Charting system: Epic (experience required)
• Scrub color: Navy
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Required skills include but are not limited to: administration of blood and blood products, angina, anticoagulation therapy, antiseizure medications, assistive devices, blood glucose monitoring, care and management of ports, central line care (PICC lines), CVA, diabetic teaching, diuretics, fall risk assessment and prevention, feeding tube care and management, foley catheter removal, hypertension, incentive spirometry, infection prevention, insulin protocols, isolation precautions/PPE, lift/transfer devices, mobilization techniques, national patient safety goals/core measures, neuromuscular disease, NG tube insertion and management, oral/nasotracheal suctioning, pain assessment and management, Parkinson's disease, patient teaching, PEG tube feeding and management, post MI, pressure ulcer assessment and prevention, prosthesis application, pulse oximetry, pulse/CMS checks, restraints, seizure disorders, specialty beds, spinal cord injury, starting and maintaining IVs, stroke scale assessment, supplemental oxygen delivery, suture/staple removal, swallowing precautions, thickened liquids, total joint replacement, traumatic brain injury, venous blood draws, wound care, and respiratory nebulizers/CPAP/BiPAP
• Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, interpretation services, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
