PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Job Details:

• 13-week contract with guaranteed 36 hours per week
• 12-hour variable shifts, days 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or nights 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Contract end falls on Sunday
• Float requirements include all inpatient units as needed, typically to higher acuity units
• Low census may occur in 4-hour increments; traveler may be asked to work only 4 or 8 hours of a shift
• 36-bed Med Surg Intermediate Care unit with heavy telemetry focus
• Patient population includes stable/weaning vents and trachs, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, ortho trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke
• Patient ratio of 4:1 with primary patients and insulin drips
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Required certifications: WI RN License, BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2+ years of experience required; Stepdown, Intermediate, or PCU experience required
• Ventilator and trach experience required
• ICU experience preferred; Trauma Level II experience preferred
• At least 1 prior travel experience required
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
