Med Surg RN Job in Morgantown, WV

You'll work as a Registered Nurse on a 22-bed Orthopedic/Telemetry unit at WVU JW Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. This is a 3x12 rotating night shift position—Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM—with a 91-day contract starting October 26, 2026.

Unit Overview

• 22-bed Orthopedic/Telemetry unit with a 1:5–6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• 3 CNAs per shift (1:7–8 ratio) and a 24/7 charge nurse available
• Telemetry monitoring present; you are not required to read strips
• RT equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen available as needed

Your Role

You will care for patients with orthopedic diagnoses including joint replacements, fractures, and post-operative orthopedic procedures. You must have strong orthopedic nursing experience with total joint replacements; fracture-only experience is not sufficient. No drip titration is required. You may float to other units (7E, 7W, 10W, or 10E) as needed.

Scheduling

• Every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule required
• Rotating holiday requirement—expect to work into the holiday rotation
• Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract

Orientation & Systems

• 1–2 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scrub color: Royal Blue

Qualifications

• Current RN license (BSN not required)
• BLS certification required
• Strong orthopedic nursing experience with total joint replacement cases
