RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Night shift position working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Rotating weekends and holidays required (3 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule: Saturday, Sunday, Saturday)
• No on-call or standby requirements
• 32-bed stepdown unit with patient ratios of 1:3 for stepdown assignments and 1:4 for combo assignments
• 3 shifts of unit orientation provided
• Care for post-surgical thoracic and medicine patients
• Manage and titrate drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Nitro, Esmolol, Heparin, and Lasix (no vasopressors)
• Titration performed with specific parameters based on MD orders
• Interpret and chart patient rhythms with assessments every 4 hours or more frequently during medication titration
• Work with BiPap and trach patients (no ventilators)
• Utilize centralized telemetry monitoring system and in-room patient monitors
• Charting system: EPIC
• 3-4 CNAs per shift and 1 charge nurse available on unit
• Floating is very rare
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Dress code: Royal Blue scrubs
• Required certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Strong MedSurg Stepdown experience required with ability to titrate drips and read strips
• BSN not required
