PCU RN Job in Denver, CO

Join HCA HealthONE Swedish as an RN on our 30-bed Progressive Care Unit located on the 5th floor of the Northwest Tower in Denver, CO. You will work three 12-hour night shifts weekly, from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, with a typical patient ratio of 1:4 and occasionally 1:5.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a progressive care setting with mixed acuity patients
• Perform post-catheterization care including right and left heart catheterizations, TAVRs, ablations, Watchmans, and pacemaker implantations with TR band management and neurovascular checks
• Manage post-thoracic surgery patients including VATs, RATs, resections, and lobectomies with chest tube management
• Provide pre- and post-operative care for open-heart surgical patients including CABGs, MVRs, AVRs, and aortic dissection repairs
• Support vascular surgery post-operative patients
• Operate telemetry systems, transport monitors, feeding pumps, suction equipment, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high-flow oxygen, IV pumps, and SCD pumps
• Manage complex equipment including chest tubes, Foley catheters, pacer wires, and related devices
• Document care using the Meditech EMR system

Requirements

• Current RN licensure
• Minimum 1 year of acute care PCU hospital experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required

Preferred Skills

• Chest tube management and removal
• Pacer wire removal
• 12-lead EKG interpretation
• Advanced oxygen management including BiPAP and heated high-flow systems
• Drip management for medications including heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, dobutamine, milrinone, and ketamine

This 91-day assignment begins September 7, 2026. Weekly pay is $1,962. You will join a collaborative team that values communication, teamwork, and adaptability in a fast-paced acute care environment.
