Telemetry RN Job in Columbia, SC

MUSC Health Columbia Medical Center Downtown is hiring a Registered Nurse for their Med/Surg Telemetry unit. You'll work 3x12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with a patient ratio of 1:5. Every other weekend is required, and you may be called on rare occasions for on-call duties (first 4 hours only). The facility allows one call-off per 2 weeks, and block scheduling is available with manager approval based on unit needs.

Qualifications:

• South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact RN license
• 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Charge experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted

Core Responsibilities:

You'll manage patients across adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. Essential skills include cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation, central line and PICC line management, blood product and feeding tube care, BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula support, pacemaker management (temporary and permanent), pre/post cardiac angiogram and cath care, wound and wound vac management, phlebotomy, IV initiation and maintenance, continuous bladder irrigation, non-invasive airway management, and substance withdrawal support. You'll also respond to rapid response and code team calls as needed.

May float within scope to other like units and sister facilities to meet operational needs. You'll wear royal blue scrubs and have access to interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretaries.
