PCU RN Job in Asheville, NC

You'll work as an RN in a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC. This is a 91-day travel assignment on day shift, working 3 x 12-hour shifts (6:45 AM–7:15 PM), with every other weekend required. Weekly pay is $2,102.40.

Your responsibilities include:

• Manage a patient ratio of 4:1 at grid, 5:1 when stretched
• Perform neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, and TLSO brace application
• Manage chest tubes, PCA pumps, and IV infusions
• Assist with lumbar drain management and feeding tube placement
• Administer blood transfusions
• Operate IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pumps, chest tubes, trachs, and patient lifts
• May float to step-down units and med-surg units as needed
• Utilize Cerner EMR system

Day shift staffing includes 2 CNC/Charge nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC. Night shift includes 2 CNC/Charge nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC.

Requirements:

• Neuro and trauma care experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certification
• Navy blue scrubs
