ICU - Intensive Care Unit

Job Details:

• Work 3x12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
• Must work at least 1 holiday per 13-week contract
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Previous neuro experience required
• Large L1/L2 facility experience required
• 1 year of experience required
• EPIC charting system experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and use of Rapid Response and Code teams
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care, including accessing/managing ports, arterial line management, and PICC line management
• Medication management including continuous IV paralytics/neuromuscular blockade, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Neuro skills: CVA/acute stroke management, external ventricular drain (EVD), hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, post craniotomy, and post neurosurgery management
• Respiratory skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, suctioning (ETT, NT), and ventilator management
• Patient diagnoses include stroke, neurosurgery, neuro-specific diagnoses, and complex spine
• Special procedures include EVDs and therapeutic thermoregulation
• Floating within skillset required
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Previous charge experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
