Job Details:

• 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM with flexibility required for various start times
• Must be flexible with shift start times including day shift (7:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 12:00 PM) and night shift (3:00 PM, 7:00 PM) options
• Every other weekend required (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday counted as the weekend), with potential for every weekend depending on staffing
• Holiday shifts required and will be worked into permanent staff rotation
• First to float policy in effect
• Minimum 2 years of emergency room experience required
• Trauma experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• BSN not required
• Scrub color: Blue for RN
• Patient ratios of 2:1 to 4:1
• 24-bed emergency department handling approximately 250 patient visits per day
• Fast track area available, though travelers are typically placed in the main ER
• Common diagnoses include STEMI, cardiac, sepsis, ETOH, stroke, DKA, and a wide variety of patient types
• Care is divided into three areas: fast track, treat and anticipate disposition, and acute care
• Charting system: Cerner PowerChart
• 22 hardwired GE monitors available in room and at nurses station
• Respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and phlebotomy services available 24/7
• ER techs available to assist with technical duties and security needs
• Respiratory therapists typically maintain ventilators
• 1-day floor-specific orientation provided
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or up to 3 shifts for shorter assignments
