Med Surg RN Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment on the Medical-Surgical unit. You will work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a guaranteed 48 hours per week. This position offers flexibility with up to 36 hours of low census unbillable time available in hour increments as needed.

Unit & Patient Care:

• Float across inpatient units as assigned
• Work on the MAP Unit covering medical patients (travelers do not care for pediatric patients)
• Typical patient ratios: 1:6-7 on nights
• Manage conditions including respiratory illnesses, stroke, neurological conditions, gastrointestinal illness, diabetic management, renal failure, urinary tract disorders, sepsis, wound care, clotting disorders, infectious disease processes, and acute alcohol withdrawal

Scheduling:

• Every other weekend rotation required
• Every other holiday rotation required

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Trauma Level II experience highly preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Wisconsin RN License
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)

Compensation & Duration:

Weekly pay is $2,402.64. The contract runs for 91 days, with a start date of October 12, 2026.
