Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts required with 4-hour orientation classroom session plus unit orientation to complete the first 12-hour shift
• Every other weekend required
• Block schedule accommodations will be attempted but are not guaranteed
• Day/Evening patient ratios are 5:1 (stretch 6-7); Night ratios are 6-7:1 (stretch 8-10 if staff calls in)
• Float required to MS, ICU, and ED - float assignments are limited to Med/Surg level patient care or as helping hands; will not practice outside of scope
• Caring for adult and geriatric patient populations with cardiovascular and wound diagnoses
• PCTs available on all units to assist with vital signs, blood glucose checks, EKGs, and activities of daily living
• Mandatory competency required in phlebotomy and peripheral IV placement
• Required skills include: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, rapid response team activation, peripheral line care and management, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tanks, non-invasive airway management, isolation precautions/PPE, and computerized documentation
• Special equipment used includes Hoyer lifts and wound vac
• 1 year of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Epic charting experience is a hard requirement
• New York nursing license required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Scrubs: Navy blue or white
• Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
