PCU RN Job in Mesa, Arizona

Banner Desert Medical Center is seeking an experienced RN to join its Progressive Care Unit team in Mesa, Arizona. You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week, providing direct patient care in an acute care hospital setting.

About the Role

You will assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards. Your responsibilities include conducting comprehensive patient assessments covering physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, and cultural needs. You will review patient history, diagnostics, and laboratory data, reporting abnormal results to physicians and appropriate caregivers.

As an RN, you will formulate and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, including discharge planning when needed. You may delegate and supervise activities of other licensed nurses and healthcare personnel. You will evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching, revising plans as necessary. All assessments, interventions, and patient responses must be documented in a timely and legible manner.

Beyond direct care, you will participate in shared leadership, staff education, precepting, and mentoring activities.

Required Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license in Arizona
• BLS certification
• Minimum one year experience in an acute care hospital setting
• Experience in the specialty area within the past 12 months
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and meet physical demands of direct patient care

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Professional certification

Assignment Details

This is a 362-day travel assignment beginning October 26, 2026. You will work varied schedules including weekends and holidays as per department guidelines. Your weekly pay is $2,541.
